Building Data API

The Approximation API provides estimated structural building values based on available input data. It is designed to deliver general building characteristics when sufficient and reliable information is available to describe the building.

Typical attributes returned by this API include:

  • area_ground: Approximate ground area of the building
  • bgf_nhk2010: Gross floor area according to NHK2010
  • volume_lod_with_cellar: Building volume including cellar (Level of Detail)
  • enclosed_volume: Enclosed building volume
  • living_area_din: Estimated living area based on DIN 277
  • living_area_vds: Estimated living area based on VDS-772
  • living_area_wo_flv: Estimated living area based on the German Living Space Ordinance (WoFlV)

Note: The quality and completeness of the results depend on how well the building is described in the input data. The more precise the available input, the more accurate the approximation.
