Solar Potential API

The Solar Potential API provides an approximation of a building’s suitability for photovoltaic (PV) installations, including technical potential, estimated energy output, and financial implications. This informationis based on generalized building and solar assumptions.

The results include:

β˜€οΈ Solar Parameters & Input Data

  • solar_building_parameters: Describes the parameters used to calculate the solar potential, including the building's geometry, orientation, and available installation areas.
  • sunshine_hours_per_year: Estimated annual sunshine hours.

Note: This is a generalized average and does not reflect region-specific solar radiation. If precise regional modeling is required, external solar radiation datasets must be used.

πŸ”§ Installation Potential

  • components: List of surfaces (e.g., roof sections) where solar panels could be installed, including:
  • area: Available area in mΒ²
  • orientation: Cardinal direction of the surface (e.g., south, west)
  • tilting: Roof pitch angle
  • yield_deviation_in_percent: Yield reduction based on orientation/tilt
  • number_of_panels: Number of panels that fit on the surface
  • potential_solar_output_in_kwh_per_year: Annual solar energy output per component
  • Aggregated results:
  • pv_overall_power_in_kwp: Total system power in kilowatt-peak (kWp)
  • potential_solar_output_in_kwh_summed_per_year: Total annual PV output
  • number_of_panels: Total number of installable panels

πŸ’° Investment Costs

  • investment_costs: Estimates for system installation, including:
  • pv_module_in_euro: Cost of PV modules
  • pv_module_installation_in_euro: Installation cost of PV modules
  • pv_storage_in_euro: Optional battery storage cost
  • pv_storage_installation_in_euro: Installation cost for storage system

πŸ“ˆ Financial Evaluation

Two financial models are provided:

  • without_storage: Economic performance without battery storage
  • with_storage: Economic performance including battery storage

Each model contains:

  • independence_level: Estimated energy self-sufficiency level
  • own_used_solar_power_in_kwh_per_year: Self-consumed solar electricity
  • electricity_cost_saving_in_euro_per_year: Annual savings through reduced electricity bills
  • grid_feed_in_kwh_per_year: Surplus electricity fed into the grid
  • feed_in_compensation_in_euro_per_year: Earnings from feed-in tariffs
  • total_saving_in_euro_per_year: Total yearly benefit (savings + compensation)
  • amortization_in_years: Payback time for the system in years

Disclaimer: The results are based on standardized assumptions and averaged solar data. Regional solar conditions, shading, and installation specifics are not considered in this approximation and must be validated separately for precise planning.
